The involvement of local communities at every stage is key to ensuring the long-term impact of all efforts and actions undertaken. Local communities experience and understand the link between healthy ecosystems and better living standards, and become empowered to continue restoring and protecting their ecosystems. Restoration communities are global living labs who develop and share techniques on how to effectively rehabilitate and restore effective ecosystems with a global network and educate and inspire people locally and globally. Restoration communities develop regenerative business models to improve livelihoods while protecting the ecosystem.
