Ecosystem Restoration Communities (ERCs) are locations for people around the world to participate in the most urgent and great task of restoring our degraded natural systems and introducing regenerative uses for humanity to thrive. The Foundation supports this network of restoration partners predominantly through communications, knowledge exchange and education for the public.

What it means to be a restoration community

ERCs restore degraded lands together with local communities, volunteers and experts. The involvement of local communities at every stage is key to ensuring the long-term impact of all efforts and actions undertaken. Local communities experience and understand the link between healthy ecosystems and better living standards, and become empowered to continue restoring and protecting their ecosystems. Restoration communities are global living labs who develop and share techniques on how to effectively rehabilitate and restore effective ecosystems with a global network and educate and inspire people locally and globally. Restoration communities develop regenerative business models to improve livelihoods while protecting the ecosystem.

If you are interested in starting an ecosystem restoration community, please take the time to complete the self-assessment forms below to see if you are ready to join the mighty movement of earth restorers.
