Regenerative Agriculture 4-Week Course
Location
In this course we will explore how farming can be a key solution to climate change, biodiversity loss, income inequality, rural community disintegration among other issues we face as a local and global community while creating nutrient rich food for the community and a fair wage for the farmer. The course will give participants the an overview knowledge of key aspects of regenerative agriculture.
In this course we will learn
- Ecosystem restoration,
- Building healthy soil
- Water and nutrient cycles
- Agroforestry
- Direct selling so that farmer gets a fair portion of the income
Who is this course for?
This course is for people farming the land in Ireland around Monaghan Cavan Louth and Meath who want to learn new skills around land management and or join a community of farmers that want to get involved in restoring the ecosystem of these counties.
The facilitators
Gareth Conlon – Gareth has worked with adult learnings and community development for over 15 years; This led him to discover and learn about Permaculture and ecosystem restoration as the main opportunity to mitigate climate change and restore communities.
Conan Connolly – Conan has a degree in Civil Engineering, where he focused on natural/environmental processes, he became aware of the widespread mismanagement and exploitation of the natural environment. He has since worked tirelessly to raise the awareness of others about environmental issues while also upskilling himself to undertake ecosystem restoration.
We also plan to have some guest speakers contributing to the course.
